You win the jackpot in the Millionaire lottery by matching all five main numbers and the two lucky star numbers.
The Millionaire jackpot starts at £14 million and if not won, it continues to roll over until it reaches the £90 million cap.
The Millionaire is just like our other lotteries, so the prizes are shared the same way. Although the EuroMillions is a separate lottery, Millionaire prizes are divided as usual in order to keep the same format. However, the Swiss Loto Express numbers act as our relevant winning numbers.
So, if the EuroMillions jackpot is won externally by 1 person matching the winning EuroMillions numbers, and you match the winning Swiss Lotto Express numbers along with another Lycalotto.com customer, then the Millionaire jackpot will be split 3 ways with you receiving 1/3 of the top prize. This format also applies to the tier 2 and tier 3 prizes.
Here's a breakdown of how it works:
|1 Lycalotto.com Millionaire winner gets:||2 Lycalotto.com Millionaire winners get:|
|0 external EuroMillions winners||100%||50%|
|1 external EuroMillions winner||50%||33.3%|
|2 external EuroMillions winners||33.3%||25%|
The winning Millionaire numbers are selected from the Swiss Loto Express draws which take place every 5 minutes and provide 20 numbers between 1 and 80. The main numbers are taken from the 9:40pm draw on the same day of the Euromillions draw. They are selected in order of appearance and if numbers above 50 are drawn, these are not taken into consideration.
If the 9:40pm Swiss Loto Express draw does not contain five numbers between 1 and 50, then the next draws are used until five numbers are drawn between 1 and 50. There is a very small chance that more than two draws will be required to obtain the five main numbers.
Once the five main numbers are determined, the next draw is used for the two star numbers, and if any numbers above 12 are drawn, they are disregarded. If this draw does not contain two numbers below 12, then the next draws are used until two numbers between 1 and 12 are drawn. There is a very small chance that more than 3 draws will be required to obtain the two star numbers.
Let’s take a look at an example:
You choose 12, 24, 32, 37, 48 as your main numbers and 5 and 9 as your stars.
At 9.40pm, the Swiss Loto Express draws 20 main numbers, but only the following are below 50 and count towards your bet: 11, 24, 32.
At 9.45pm, the Swiss Loto Express draws a further 20 main numbers, with the first five appearing in the following order: 72, 37, 14, 22, and 59.
The remaining numbers at 50 or below are selected in the order they appear, so here it will be 37 and 14.
The first two numbers between 1 and 12 are then selected from the 9.50pm draw as the star numbers. For example, 5 and 11.
Therefore, the winning numbers for the Millionaire will be 11, 14, 24, 32, 37 and stars 5 and 11.
You match three main numbers (24, 32 and 37) and one star (5) and you pocket an estimated £11.00.
